C2ES Technology Working Groups

C2ES Technology Working Groups focus on four critical-path technologies: engineered carbon removal, sustainable aviation fuel, long-duration energy storage, and clean hydrogen. These working groups provide a regular venue for stakeholders to discuss the technical, market, and policy solutions needed to rapidly scale these technologies. C2ES will use the insights from each working group to produce thought leadership, identify synergies between technologies, and generate policy recommendations to enable rapid deployment and commercialization of these critical-path technologies.

Engineered Carbon Removal

Engineered carbon removal (ECR) is a necessary complement to industrial decarbonization and the transition to clean energy. The ECR working group is focused on both direct air capture (DAC) and biomass carbon removal & storage (BiCRS). Both innovative technologies are encountering challenges as they rapidly scale. The ECR Working Group convenes stakeholders from across the ECR ecosystem to collaborate and problem-solve.
